Scouting and advanced calling skills are the abilities that will put that bull of a lifetime in your sights. If you are looking to ride the roads and shoot over the hood, call someone else. During our world-class hunts. We will deliver you to the stand and return to get you when legal light fades. The OAC team will provide tree stands or the hounds. You will stay at our new Central Maine base camp in Guilford Maine or one of our remote camps north of Moosehead. When the hunter is successful, we get your trophy out and to your desired location to be caped and butchered. Bait hunts are conducted the first two weeks of the season and bait and hound hunts are conducted the last 2 weeks. We only run 6 to 9 hunters per week. Since then, the expansion of the turkey population has exploded to all counties within the State. Our experienced guides routinely experience 100% success calling in big toms. Red Stag (European Elk) — Seventh Ridge Wilderness Preserve is located atop Buker Mountain in Guilford, Maine. Our private preserve is part of a 700-acre property managed for timber and native wildlife. The Ridge is unique in that we currently allow primitive hunting in our preserve (Bow or Muzzleloader). This allows the hunter to sit, stalk and hunt their trophy animal in the woods of Maine. No large fields or farmland in our preserve just thickets, meadows, and big timber. This is a true Maine hunting experience for Red Stag. Tree stands and ground blinds are made available if needed. OAC can also arrange for combo hunts for black bear, whitetail, turkey and upland game.

It is not uncommon for whitetails to weight over 300 lbs. (Live weight) in Maine. Located between Wildlife Management Districts (WMD) 17 to the south and WMD14 to the north. WMD 17 boasts the highest buck harvest in the state with 150 bucks per sq. mile. We can enusre that you will have one of the best guided hunts in Maine. On the other side of the spectrum, WMD 14 has a buck harvest of 50 per sq. mile with residents that number only 9 per sq. mile. If you’re an extreme whitetail hunter, WMD14 has plenty of big woods with miles of unbroken forest to challenge your skills once snow is on the ground.
